Every piece is crafted in-house with respect and passion for the soul and personality of the piece. No two sets will ever be made the same.

The Perspective reading chair and Companion book stand are a tribute to the power of the perspectives gained through thoughtful reading. The piece is fully tailored to the individual for a truly personal experience. Every cut of every section is made in proportion to one of several measurements taken of the client for whom it is crafted. The Companion book stand is made to scale of the chair. Every piece is crafted in-house with respect for the soul and personality of the piece. No two sets will ever be made the same.
Passionately Crafted
Each piece is crafted using only hand tools and classic machinery. There is no metal hardware, stain, or any other introduced component of any kind. No automated machinery is involved. The dedication to keep the piece unpolluted by outside elements is done as a tribute to the soul and spirit of the work. The segments are fastened together using an arrangement of concealed floating-tenons, made from the cutoff pieces created from shaping the seat. The entire piece is made from Eastern Black Walnut.

Process
Upon ordering the piece five specific measurements of the client will be collected. Every cut in the chair from the base up is based on a proportion of those measurements. Each chair and book stand is individually made to order, in-house, at the private studio in Lakeland, Florida from solid Eastern Black Walnut. Each piece involves approximately 65 hours of labor to create, before applying a specially selected oil and wax blend clear finish. The finish is applied and cures during a two week process. The process creates a protected wood surface, while leaving the texture of the grain unaltered for a truly unique tactile experience. Approximate eight to ten week lead time.
